WHAT: Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, will hold a voting meeting of the committee to consider the following legislation:
House Bill 437, sponsored by Rep. Joshua Kail (R-Beaver/Washington), would amend current law by adding the power to temporarily modify the custody order when a parent is found to be in contempt.
House Bill 1984, sponsored by Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin), would amend the Adoption Act so victims of rape can terminate parental rights of the rapist without having to re-marry and have the new parent adopt the child.
House Resolution 657, sponsored by Rep. Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland), which would designate Feb. 8-15, 2020, as Court Reporting and Captioning Week in Pennsylvania.
