AARP Smart Driver Courses

Seniors wanting to sharpen their driving skills and receive a discount on their auto insurance are encouraged to sign up to attend one of the upcoming AARP Smart Driver Courses I am hosting.

All classes will be held at Chambersburg Area School District Administration Building, 435 Stanley Ave. in Chambersburg from 8 a.m. to noon.

• Oct. 24 & 25  (Must attend both days)

The AARP Smart Driver Course is offered as a two-day program for first-time attendees and a one-day refresher course for those who have taken the two-day course previously. The one-day refresher is only needed once every three years.

By taking the course, participants will learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today’s increasingly challenging driving environment.

There are no tests to pass, and upon completion of the course, participants may be eligible to receive Pennsylvania’s multi-year auto insurance discount for insured drivers age 55 and older.

The course costs $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members paid by check or money order. Space is limited. Register by calling my district office at 717-264-3943.
