Rep. Rob Kauffman has been named chairman of the House Judiciary Committee for the 2019-20 session. He previously served as chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee (pictured above). |
“It continues to be an honor to serve the people of the 89th Legislative District,” said Kauffman. “I am as humbled now as I was the first time I placed my hand on the Bible and recited the oath.
“This year presents another new challenge for me as well, as I have been selected to lead the prestigious House Judiciary Committee,” said Kauffman. “I am excited to get to work on tackling the many complex and far-reaching legislative measures that come before the committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the committee to put measures in place to increase public safety and improve our state’s criminal justice system.”
This will be Kauffman’s second term serving as a committee chairman. He previously served as majority chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee.
