HARRISBURG – On Friday, July 29, 39 years after his death, Fayetteville Fire Chief James Cutchall is being honored for his service with the unveiling of signs for the James W. Cutchall Memorial Highway on State Route 1008 (Main Street) in Fayetteville. Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin) authored the legislation making the designation possible and was joined by members of Cutchall’s family for the presentation.

WHAT: Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin) is hosting the unveiling of a sign that will designate a portion of State Route 1008 (Main Street) in Fayetteville the James W. Cutchall Memorial Highway. Kauffman wrote the legislation that has been signed into law honoring Cutchall, who was a Fayetteville fire chief who was tragically shot and killed on July 2, 1977, when he arrived at the scene of a blaze. The fire was purposefully started by his killer who then ambushed the responding firefighters, killing Cutchall.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin) issued the following statement after taking part in a bipartisan press conference with his colleagues in the House of Representatives announcing the passage of five bills aimed at addressing the growing opioid epidemic and encouraging Gov. Tom Wolf to call a special session on the issue. A special session would allow for the focus of further legislative measures designed to prevent addiction, curb the use and prescription of pain killers, get more illegal drugs off the streets and provide treatment options for those who have become addicted.
