Kauffman Calls on Wolf to Start Transparency at the Top, Help Improve Workplace Safety
HARRISBURG – Rep. Rob Kauffman (R-Franklin), chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee, this week sent a letter to Gov. Tom Wolf requesting he release the report of the inspector general’s findings in the investigation into the treatment and safety of staff assigned to the lieutenant governor and his wife.

“As chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee, I am concerned about the working conditions of all Pennsylvania workers, including those who work for some of our state’s top officials,” said Kauffman. “The committee recently held a hearing on legislation related to workplace safety for public employees, and I think it is only natural that we lead on this issue from the top down and reveal what has been discovered by the inspector general so we can work to improve working conditions in every sector of the Commonwealth.”

Wolf removed certain staff from the lieutenant governor’s detail and put other parameters in place to ensure proper treatment of staff at the lieutenant governor’s residence at Fort Indiantown Gap once reports of maltreatment of staff became public. However, the governor is now refusing to make public the findings of the inspector general’s report on the situation.
